    CD-Rom slows down system....

My CD-ROM was always PIO on WinXP and I couldn't change that if my life depended on it. Installing the VIA drivers a billion times didn't fix it So I dumped XP, installed 2k, somehow both my hard drive AND cd-rom were set to pio, so I dl'd and installed via 4.37 drivers, and voila, no more...

    Athlon operating temp and voltage

Look and see if it is a jumper-controlled setting. Some motherboards do that to prevent accidental setting of extreme voltage that melts your processor, or because they're too cheap (or smart) to make it easy to oc for the people who don't want to get down and dirty with their computer's...

Is anyone not doing genome that should be?

hey kyle, how about you do something USEFUL with your CPU for once instead of having it feed frames to your piece of crap video card, and start genome back up?

    Anybody up for a test?

The test subject: A gallery script I modified to show multiple items per row. Experimental, because I've only been able to tweak it where it performs fine for one user. I don't know how it performs when multiple users are hitting it. Thus, this test is born. The object: Find out if this...

    It's a secret

Intel screwed up with not making 32-bit application compatibility a priority with the Itanium. The hammer will rule the high-end server market, plain and simple. AMD had the better idea from the beginning. Now that Intel realizes that, they're jumping on AMD's bandwagon now. But it's already too...
