Hz = revolutions per second. Rated speed (in this case ns) = time for one revolution. Therefore 1/Hz=s; 1/Ghz=ns. :)

.. but sorta reversed. Rather than the standard Chord.wav it makes this sorta metallic whistling sound; it's actually quite a cool sound & I thought it was a feature, rather than a bug ( :rolleyes: ). It's a lot like a sonar pulse sound but with some static thrown in for good measure ()...

Have you done a Thorough Scan to make sure the hard disk is still fine? Plus Fujitsu may have been low on MS's list of XP compatibilty so it may be that even though it is newer than the Maxtor drive. Go to the MS update site & run the XP compatibility applet to check on that one. :)
