    Please respond: What browser you using & do you have problems with the menu?

    Netscape Communicator 4.77 under Linux the menu bar looks strange but the menu functions well. Mozilla 0.91 under Linux the menu bar looks fine but scrolls out slow and jerky. Konqueror 2.1.1 under Linux the menu is non-existent. I am downloading the latest Opera for Linux and will let you know.

    Which one??

    Another advantage to Mandrake is that it is 99% compatible with RedHat so you can use RedHat RPM's with it. The advantage to Mandrake RPM's is that they have been compiled to optimize performance on Pentium class processors.

    pulehu = barbecue

    I like pork tenderloin marinated in olive oil, garlic and rosemary grilled until just barely pink in the very center (@ 150F) and juices just start to run clear. Served with homemade bbq sauce, grilled whole ears of corn and pasta salad.

    Min specs for Linux??

    The onboard sound can be tricky. You will probably have to play with it some to get it to work. One good thing about dual booting is that you can boot into windows to identify IRQ's, I/O's and DMA's which may be helpful in setting it up.

    Min specs for Linux??

    That's my vote, I love it. It was the first distro that I did not have to manually mount removable media drives to use them. 7.1 would be my choice. 7.2 was a crappy release and the first one which included KDE2.

    Feedback

    IMHO. The only two things I would consider changing are: Padding out the two paragraphs of text that are laying up against the links box. Move the left links box under the right one maybe in a frame and let those linux distro logo's show up at the top and move the Google search box to the top...

    Min specs for Linux??

    I ran RedHat 6.1 and Mandrake 7.1 on a P200 with 64MB and 2GB hard disk in GUI mode just fine. I agree that the newer distros with KDE2 will dog. I would recommend Mandrake 7.1 because it is very forgiving re: hardware. Note: I always install GUI I/F and usually all the goodies which takes...
