What are the spec on the power supply you are using?
And when you plug in the HD does it spin-up at all?
If you have a cd, or cdrw, or something in there,
try unplugging everything except the HD, and FD and see
what it does.
High bills here too ... again.
I'm gonna have to put all mine on part time.:(
I took a chance last night with the storms rolling through,
but they are comming again, so I'm gonna have to cut um
off tonight.
I think gencat is slowing just a bit right now.
I'm gonna put a few more back on it.
amd tbird 1.4, cel 1.0, and a slot-a tird 700.
I thought I was gonna have to shut down during the storms,
but I got lucky.:D
I think that "Direct-RDRAM" chipset is one they are no longer
developing. You might want to look for boards with 32bit rambus.
I think they are the new versions of the 850e.
Yeah, the 100mhz bus models are ok, but
the 66mhz ones, like the 266, and 300 are sluggish.
Now the cel466 on 66 isn't too bad, but 256 is the min
on mem for 2000 with out getting real sluggish.
I think 2000, an XP are close on mem usage.
Well, Soyo wouldn't be my first choice, but I'd definitly
take it over a dell.
I like the colors of thier boards, I just wish they made a
dual channel ddr version.
I haven't seen one. If there is one.
I do like that new VIA ddr400 chipset on thier P4s though.
