Hey Brock, va chier.
Fuser, I'm on the Rive-sud. St-hubert, specifically. But my office is in Anjou. If yer coming and looking fer work, send me yer CV and I'll see what I can do.
The ignition coil takes voltage from the battery and jumps it up high enough to arc. Then it passes that voltage across the coil wire (middle one on the distributer cap) and sends it down to the sparkplugs. If your coil's toast, it's parksville for ya. It can go in a heartbeat, with no warning...
If you could turn the distributer by hand, then your problem is your timing. That turning is how you set the timing advance. If it's loose, your timing could be out by a full cylinder or more. This is one of those cases where it's cheaper to just let a pro at it.
I've got the Haynes manual. Can't tell shit from their diagrams.
Tried to get a chilton, but they just don't have 'em here. ****ing Haynes manual, half of the articles say, "sorry, you can't do this. Go to a mechanic." Piece of shit.
I'm only patching the race. I'm ****ed if I'm gonna try and rerun 30 odd cables all over the friggin' engine compartment. I was hoping to be able to rerun the alt cables directly since I know I have problems there. The batt lead is easy, but I've no clue what the other wires are for or where...
