    Is a copper shim...

Its not the design, its the installation, with the later T birds and XP cores shims became rather pointless, as the material used as substrate over the actual core is much much stronger than it was and far less vunerable to cracking/chipping, i dropped a 500G sink on a core sideways be mistake...

    Is a copper shim...

Shims can inhbit the proper transfer between the core and sink, also if they shift whilst installation they can cause processor burnout as they might make the sink not contact the core at all. I would not use it if overclocking, you want the best transfer possible and a shim might just inhibit...

This kind of thing only happens to me I guess

I've got mine down pat, i think :retard: The system runs P95 like a champ from early morning (2-3ishAM ) to roughly 5:25PM., then all hell breaks loose, P95 fails no matter what time i started it at, so its most likely not the machine, could be some temporary brownouts dropping the voltage just...

This kind of thing only happens to me I guess

How clean is your AC power? My room is terrible, i cannot pass prime 95 usually after a few hours, on computers that were 100% rock stable and worked p95 for days on end at full trottle in my old place. Other than that app i am 100% fully stable in every thing else.

    AMD processor tables?

Palominos ended at 2100+(1.73Ghz) , Tbirds actually began at 600 or 650. i know 650 fer sure, can't remember if the 600's existed. ( both slot A) edit - memory flash, both SEC and PGA had 650 Tbird versions, doubting the existence of the 600 more and more.

    AMD processor tables?

It was the first 1Ghz processor, only problem was the 512k 1/3 speed L2 cache @ 333Mhz, hence the T-bird solution.

    AMD processor tables?

actually the 1000MHz Slot A is the last of the 'classic' Athlon 512k L2 chips, twas the first processor hit 1Ghz, i know this for certain as i had built a few systems around the 950 and 1000 version. Can't remember how fast the Tbird Slot A's went to.
