There is a passwords thingy in control panel...I'm not too sure what you mean exactly.

Tools\Internet Options\Content\Auto Complete contains that option.

Do you mean you don't want to have to keep entering a password to start up Windows?

If I remember correctly, you can change your password to nothing and switch "Default login" to "Windows Logon" in Win9x. In Win2k, you'll have to set it to "Automatically log in" to some user in the Users and Passwords control panel. You can get to the classic Win2k users and passwords control panel in WinXP by going to start\run and typing "control userpasswords2"

If you are wanting to password protect the system, you can set a password in the bios too.
