Tough. Limited Lifetime Warranty means zilch when the company is no longer in business. Here's an email I sent, received, re-submitted & go a final reply to-

I bought the voodoo3 last X-mas time. There are problems with it now(XP won't load because of it) and I'd like to know what I can do about the "limited lifetime warranty" since 3dfx no longer exists.

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting 3dfx Technical Support.

Regretfully there won't be Windows XP drivers due to the closing down of the company but here are some websites that claim to have these drivers. These drivers, as said, is not 3dfx or Microsoft certified so it would be in your discretion to use or not use these drivers.

Hope we were able to help.

Should you have additional inquiries, please feel free to write or call us back at 1-800-549-2782.

That is NOT what I asked. Please re-read my original inquiry.

Hi there,

Thank you for writing back.

We are very sorry to inform you that we can no longer issue an RMA number for your card. The RMA department can no longer accept cards for replacement since they have run out of cards to give out. Ever since the company ceased function, we have, in effect also stopped manufacturing the line of products that we have.

As much as we would want to provide you with a replacement card, there is basically nothing we can do since the company is already closed. It is just the technical support department that's left.

We wish to express our great desire to help you out but we are also stuck in a no win situation because there really is no one we can turn to request for your card to be replaced.

Regarding Nvidia, we really do not have any information about their plans. The only information we have is that they bought the technology and assets of 3DFX and therefore cannot be held liable for the products manufactured by our company.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Sincerely,

Mickey
