How do you pick a DSL provider?

Everyone at my work who has DSL has PacBell. I don't really like the idea of trying to call PacBell for service, I've had enough trouble with the phone.

Plus I'm trying to see if I can get a better deal.

I'm not sure how to tell what's available in my area.

I'm going to miss my cable modem.

why? what's happening to your cable modem. I'm thinking of getting DSL myself now that shaw@home bumped me over to rogers@home. I hate rogers@home so much that I can't type it here.

I'm moving to Oakland and there's no cable modems there.

You won't get a better deal than Pac Bell. I just got the self install kit and it's a wonder.

Try Bayarea.net. That's my provider. They got me running a week earlier than scheduled.

Money issues maybe ok but just to go back neverrrrrrrrrrrrr!
