Can anyone guess whether I told it to stop the script, allow the script once, or authorize the script? :retard:

    Fire Trucks

Interesting question, but Q prolly hit it head on, there's not really anything they can do about a fire that happens closer to them than the one they were dispatched to. Hopefully there's more than one fire engine in the station though, cause if not that would be kind of retarded. :retard:

Slow broadband speeds in Windblows? Kill icons and active desktop

Yes. The icons and active desktop combined definitely are the cause of the slow speed. I'm not sure which one is a bigger slowdown though. It doesn't really matter that much, besides, Active Desktop is useless, and if you have a lot of icons on the desktop, it's a good idea to clean it out...

    Another domain

Too bad they force you to upgrade every week. Watch em, when 3.0 comes out there'll be so many damn bugs that they'll have us up to 3.0.1a.RC.x86.beta.build1452 in no time

    Signature Links

It really depends on the policy of the site... if the content of the link in the person's signature is against it, then it's only fair to not allow the link. However, that's a load of crap when your BIOS Central sig was allowed and then he goes and threatens to ban you when you change it to...

Slow broadband speeds in Windblows? Kill icons and active desktop

Windows doesn't make sense, Kyle. It just happened, trust me. A reboot alone didn't fix it, but killing the excess icons and active desktop, etc. then rebooting did.

Slow broadband speeds in Windblows? Kill icons and active desktop

My dad's computer wasn't going very fast, in fact dialup was a bit faster, ping-time wise  So I killed most of the icons on the desktop (moved them into a folder on the desktop named "Desktop Icons"), and disabled Active Desktop, rebooted, and download speed boosted up to 200kb/s.

The left column disappears when you enter a thread so that the thread loads post-by-post and is easier to read.

    Dead like a door knob

Make sure you've unplugged the system before doing that. I got a nice jolt when I was resetting the CMOS on my dad's computer because stupid me left the dang thing plugged in.
