I shall start off this category by posting a link to my favorite hosting company:

HostRocket

Fast and stable servers, excellent support staff, great ticket turnover times even if they're not flagged as priority, and a FAT pipe (download speeds can reach up to 500kb/s)

(edited to change from F5hosting to HostRocket. :D)

vBulletin

<a href="http://www.qksrv.net/click-907994-820068" target="_blank" onmouseover="window.status='http://www.vbulletin.com';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;">

Made with PHP and MySQL, chock full of features, blazingly fast, and easy to manage and use, it is the best bulletin board software EVER.

Incidentally, this forum is powered by said bulletin board software. :D

F5hosting!

Best service from a web hosting company that I have ever experienced. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a good package for a cheap price.

Wow, that is some good pricing. I'm paying 24.95/m for 200mb space and 5 gig traffic at XO .
Which I don't use nowhere near all that space.

I guess they don't do domain name registration?

And they have a bulletin board :eek:

If I remember correctly, they do domain registering, but recommend that you do so yourself through dotster.com (Domain name registration site) as it is cheaper for new domain names and has a great deal for registration transfers (i.e. transfer from your old registrant such as Network Solutions (another domain name registration site) to dotster)

And yes, they do have a bulletin board :D

Speaking of bulletin boards, you won't be able to run UBB (bulletin board coded on CGI/Perl and using flat files for database records) or YaBB (free bulletin board coded on CGI/Perl and using flat files for database records) on their servers, as these boards use an old database technique of using flat files and generally take a huge chunk out of the load of the servers. (so much that they banned use of them)

But who would want to use them when you can just as easily (more easily, IMO) run boards powered by php and mysql? Such as phpBB (free bulletin board coded on PHP and powered by MySQL database) and <a href="http://www.qksrv.net/click-907994-820068" target="_blank" onmouseover="window.status='http://www.vbulletin.com';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;">vBulletin</a> (best bulletin board out there, coded on PHP and powered by MySQL database). vBulletin is especially fast on F5hosting servers, and they have enough people happily using vBulletin there to testify.

(did I put enough links in there? :D)
